Mia Sutphin Foundation
Role: Visual Designer
Duration: August 2019
The Mia Sutphin Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in memory of Mia Helene Sutphin. They support programs that care for children in serious need and their families. The foundation is focused on direct healthcare and health outreach with a particular interest in homelessness.

The goal was to redesign their current site and highlight ways for people to donate online and learn more about the foundation’s mission and the charities they support.
Challenge
The main challenge that the foundation had was that its current site had no way for people to donate online. The site had also become difficult to maintain and update with new information to inform donators of the impact their donations were making.
Research Insights
The team reviewed different website builder platforms and decided on one that allowed for online transactions and connected to existing donation accounts. After I conducted interviews with stakeholders to gather the site requirements. During the interviews, we were able to define the changes needed to information architecture and the core content needs.
For this site, the visual design had to communicate the foundation's missions in a clean, and simple way. Another focus was to highlight the feature of donating clearly and make sure the process of donating was not complex.
Iteration
I received feedback on different items, color, copy, and imagery. Below are examples of the final designs with the feedback introduced.

Impact
With the release of the new site, the foundation has seen a dramatic increase in donations online and in other formats. This has allowed them to work with new charities and increase the funding for their grant program.
